ESPN Films 30 for 30: The Legend Of Jimmy The Greek

Fascinating and incredible story!
I knew little of 'the Greek' and found this dvd amazing! I have already watched it dozens of times and still find it captivating... no joke. The less you know about his life, the more reason you should buy this dvd. The extra footage interviews are another added bonus! You won't be disappointed.

The Rise and Fall of Jimmy the Greek
Jimmy the Greek was a staple of CBS football fare from about 1976 to 1988. Paired with Brent Musburger, Phyllis George, and Irv Cross, the CBS pregame football show OWNED TV viewership. The Greek brought Las Vegas betting odds to middle class America for the first time. The Greek was a favorite of fans until he made some unfortunate comments that ended up quite badly for him. Producer/director Mitchell does a good job putting us back to what life was like in 70s: domination of the three networks; CBS' 'The NFL Today' as the show everyone watched; and Irv, Jimmy, Brent and Phyllis as 'A List' personalities, only first names required. You'd turn in just to watch the dynamics between the protagonists, what with Brent and Jimmy...
